Provo may have just one golf course – the Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club – but it’s an award-winning championship course that is held in high regard internationally. Ranked #1 Caribbean golf course in the 2024 USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards. Our villa guests searching for a different day out rave about the superb design, the exceptional maintenance, and the knowledgeable staff.
In fact, with no membership required to play, it’s an excellent way to experience something beyond the island’s beaches and water sports.
About the Course
Designed by Karl Litten, the Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club is an 18-hole target-style course that can be played in under four hours. Spanning 6,700 yards the par 72 course’s mix of tiered greens and easier short holes makes it fun but challenging. However, with four sets of tees, it is accessible to both seasoned pros and novices.
The layout is a testament to thoughtful design, seamlessly blending with the beauty of the natural surroundings and incorporating rugged limestone outcroppings, sand, palm trees, water features, and a host of exotic birdlife.
Lessons and Equipment
Whether this is your first time on a golf course, or you’ve been playing for decades, the club’s friendly PGA-trained coaches are available for individual or group lessons and clinics to help you hone your technique.
There’s no need to bring clubs with you as premium Titleist clubs, tees and balls are available for rent, and with 100 sets in stock, there’s no need to worry they will run out.
Facilities
The club's facilities complement the high-calibre of the course. Golfers can take advantage of a driving net to practice their swing, and the putting green and chipping area to warm up before hitting the course. Golf carts equipped with GPS add a modern touch to the experience ensuring players have all the information they need at their fingertips, and a state-of-the art pro shop is stocked with equipment, apparel and souvenirs. Additionally, two floodlit tennis courts (which can also be set up for pickle ball) ensure that non-golfers can find an alternative game to play.
Apres Golf
At the end of the round, retire to the convivial clubhouse, where the 19, the West Indian style bar and restaurant, is famed for its good ambiance, wide selection of drinks and tasty breakfasts and lunches.
Provo’s golf course is immaculately maintained and offers all the ancillary services and facilities to ensure a memorable day on the fairway. So, if you’re looking for a change from sea, sun and sand, head out to the green and experience one of the most scenic golf courses in the Caribbean.
